Your Denturist will be the guide to your needs for immediate dentures.
When is an immediate denture used?
To avoid being completely without teeth, your Denturist will employ an immediate denture solution. He will take an impression of your mouth while your natural teeth are present. The Denturist will then fabricate a denture to resemble your natural teeth or make any necessary modification.
A removable partial denture is usually made to replace one or more teeth and is customized to a patient’s specific requirements. Removable partial dentures restore a person’s natural appearance and greatly improve the ability to chew and speak clearly.
Partial dentures may be tooth-supported or tooth and tissue-supported. Your Denturist can best explain the major differences between these types.
One of the best ways to retain a full or partial denture is through dental implants. Although your Denturist cannot place implants, he/she can design and fit the prosthetics for them, suggest a surgeon to place them and co-ordinate the entire treatment plan. In short, dental implants are a substitute for tooth roots and form a stable foundation to retain, or even support, a Denture.
Permanent soft liners are excellent alternatives for those with severely receded or flat gums that cannot tolerate dentures or those with chronic soreness. Those with gums having prominent or bony areas can also benefit from soft liners.
Rebasing is done when denture teeth have not worn out as much as denture base material. The process will include retrofitting dentures by replacing all acrylic denture base. In this way, you are afforded a stable denture without replacing denture teeth. In most cases, this procedure can be completed same day.
This is a process that adds new base material to the denture's tissue side, resulting in proper fit. Your Denturist will take an impression within your denture. Relining affects only the fit and not the appearance of your denture. Procedures such as these are only required when tissue changes occur due to shrinkage.
Repairs may be required when breakage or chipping occurs, when one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture (due to tooth extraction), or because of wear and Tear.
Most repairs can be done the same day and usually take 1-2 hours. If your denture requires a repair, it may be indicative of underlying problems, including age of the denture, worn teeth, or poor fit. Javier Suarez DD is a professional who can best explain how to prevent denture breakage from occurring.
The patients name can be placed in their dentures. If the patient is living in a retirement or nursing home this is when name placement in their dentures is helpful.
Very easy to identify
As an oral health care specialist, your Denturist offers various types of dentures to satisfy each patient’s specific requirements.
Your Denturist, in close consultation with you, will determine what those requirements are and how to meet them. State-of-the-art dentures are able to restore your smile, and are compatible with the sensitive tissues of your mouth.
Your Denturist is able to provide you with the professional advice needed prior to choosing the denture that best suits your lifestyle.
A thorough consultation and examination with your Denturist prior to any treatment is critical to achieving the best possible outcome.
The consultation gives you the opportunity to express your concerns and desires for your new dentures. It also allows your Denturist the opportunity to assess the oral conditions present and address your needs and expectations.
Successful treatment is achieved by having a concern for the health , comfort and welfare of the patient and by establishing
a mutual confidence.
